Default LED Bulbs in signals

Has anyone put LED bulbs in their signals? Did you have to add a resistor inline to keep the flasher happy? Looking to get LEDs here but want to make sure I cover my bases.

Thanks

Mitch

I have a 40-LED array in each turn signal in the headlights and a couple of triple Luxeon Rebel Stars for the rear signals.

Resistors for each bulb is needed to stop the hyperflash. I left it out so I can hear the blinker sound.

Good to know, I figured as much. Has anyone ever tracked down a LED flasher for our cars? I know you can get them for many other vehicles. I would rather not cut and splice my harness.

The harness is part of your headlight, which is removable or can even be replaced. I don't know about the flasher, but it is pretty much a solid state device now.

Good to know, you wouldnt happen to know the resistance of the resistors you used would you? I would like to do it right the first time if I am going to go that route.

Thanks again

Mitch

Not off the top of my head since I don't know what the minimum load tolerance is. Several users have done it, so you might be able to search for it.

I'm looking at a 7443 bulb, and it lists 12V 28/8W. There are 50W resistors out there with a minimum 6 ohm.

you dont need a resistor per bulb. I have 2 resistors up front (easier to install em) and that takes care of all 4 LED's.

Anyone mind posting the LEDs they bought that worked well?

Or any "make sure not to get these."

I've been looking for white LEDs that flash orange up front and red for the back.

I personally hate seeing the orange bulbs.

I believe i have these in mine in the front and rear of turns on my car right now. Had em for almost 2 years now. Although when i bought them, they werent that much. They we're only $20

AMBER 7443 21 LED BLINKER TURN SIGNAL BULBS 7440 | 1 PAIR - Amber LED - 7443 - 7440 LED - Bulb Number

no amber showing until the signal is activated. but it does flash fast like stated above. I dont really mind it anymore, ive learned to ignore it

EDIT: I also have V-LED's hardcore super bright 6K reverses - they're an awesome LED investment if you plan on going all LED like i did
