last year i drove my G in the winter so i put her up on ramps in the Spring and just cleaned her off with a large water bottle, car shampoo, and wheel brush while i did the oil change.
if you have a lawn sprinkler, you can place that under the car and let it run for 30min given that you can get your car high enough off the ground. that's one of the easiest ways to wash under there per another car enthusiast from the MINI forum. |

I have a small electric pressure washer I use mostly for cleaning up my lawn mower and washing my cars. I don't use the pressure washer every time, but when I do I use it to rinse under the car. As for checking, I looked around last time I did an oil change.

Some drive-thru brushless carwash have for undercarriage cleaning, but have to be careful if they had metal guards on the floor. Because they could mess up your rims.

When I had my z I just used to go down to the do it yourself type car washes and used the spotless rinse setting to rinse off the bottom of my z and whenever I got under my z it was always spotless

I usually run the hose under there
I always do my CF cans on my fast intentions exhaust, never forget the look on the guy who parks next to me wondering what I'm doing washing 'under' the car, although I'm sure people in my condo think I'm super anal as the car is usually always clean

You can also just put one of those sprinkler system things that attached to hoses under the car. Quick and easy. If you get the rotating ones it really gets everything. That's going to be my plan once my Z sees snow for the first time now that she moved out of California.

I am curious about this as well.
How often should you wash the under carriage? There's a lot of dry salted roads here and I just noticed a bit on my car. I'm thinking about rinsing it ASAP first thing tomorrow morning when I get the chance, but it's kinda too chilly for a car wash right now. Would it be OK to let it sit there until it gets the temps get warmer (at least a month)?

Where I live road crews dump salt and rocks generously neither of which sound good nor are "good" to have on your paint/ whatever. So I drive the Z rarely |

If you live in a place with salt or calcium on the roads, then you should really do my trick with a sprinkler attached to a hose. either just drive over it and park, turn on your hose for 30 seconds, then turn it off and just go home! (Or to avoid freezing anything drive it into the garage after the rinse. Once a month over salted roads is too little too late!

When I lived in PA I used the drive over wash under drive - thru, it was heated in the winter. I was deathly afraid of getting my Honda salt cancer from the roads in the winter. I also used the pressure washer to clean underneath too, the undercarriage rinse wasn't good enough for me. I actually got pretty good at doing that. 4 years in PA and then 6 years later in FL no rust, no damage period. Not even any corrosion. I kept it clean and I mean clean!
