Question Sport Package Front Chin Spoiler Rivets

The Sport Package includes a front chin spoiler that is pop riveted in place (pop rivets are included). I had the dealer simply leave the spoiler assembly in the trunk as I want to install the spoiler using threaded rivets versus pop rivets. Has anyone else done this and what threaded rivets did you use? Thanks.

eh, on mine the front splitter and the two air dams are screwed in. I know this, because the wife broke one of the air damns, and i just bought a new one.

have them install it for you if it was an option that you paid for.

Arrow Threaded Rivets vs Pop Rivets

The end side two pieces are intentionally made to be unscrewed, if needed, for towing purposes: Owner's Manual, Removing Air Deflectors p.9-13 (You will also note that they show three bolts, but this is wrong as they only come with two.)

The reason I did not have the dealer install the pieces is that I want to be able to simply unscrew and replace the chin piece versus having to drill-out the rivet heads to remove the chin if it is installed the way Nissan meant it to be done. Also the pop rivets have no backing washers and the rivet itself will dig into the nose plastic.

Here is what I am looking to do, and I was hoping someone else has already done it so I could find out what they used; if not I will simply just find the parts and do it.

its exactly how your diagrams show it. if your looking for a kit to do it here is what you need Product Catalog

Other than that its pretty self explanatory: drill hole... insert threaded rivet... apply lip and insert screw with locktite

DONE!

we do this on our customers bikes and we love it!!!!

I know how to do it, and what it is, what I am looking for is someone who has already done it, what rivets they chose (e.g, countersunk, et al) and their results. Thanks.

Did you end up finding the parts?

The guy is long gone. His last activity is 2011!

If you're looking for the Nissan plastic rivets, ebay and O'reilly sells them in a package.
