Default Auto Blip Downshift Install

Hello All,

I have a 2016 Nissan 370Z base coupe heavily modified for the track. I've been running the past couple of years doing the 'ol "heel/toe" and recently learned about the "Auto Blip" module. Has anyone had any experience with this module or better yet, does anyone have the wiring information to tap the accelerator pedal sensor (APPS) wires (2), the brake wire and the clutch wire?

I have the FSM for the 2016 but have not been able to locate this information.

There is a sequential six pin connector that plugs into the throttle pedal assembly...the wire colors are pink, purple, red, white, blue and grey.

Thanks!

Well, no response yet BUT I did locate another company, https://www.xineering.com/ and though they don't have a harness for my 2016 Nissan 370Z, I had the option for them to build me one.

I sent them detailed photos of the connectors for the accelerator pedal, clutch switch and brake light switch, as well as the pedal position sensor map directly from the 2016 Nissan 370Z FSM and they are gonna build it!

This is great because unlike Auto Blip, this harness will be "plug n' play" in that I don't have to tap into the various wires and this module from xineering.com is USB programmable which will allow for much more fine tuning than a couple of knobs on a box.

More to follow once the new harness and module arrives!

Of course, if someone does have the wire information I was looking for, I'd still be interested in it.

Based on my review of the FSM, I "think" the two APPS wires are grey and white, but that's just a guess. At least with xineering.com there will be ZERO guess work.

The OEM system uses a a 5th VSS in the trans + gearshift sensor from a physical perspective along with Accel/Brake input. Big headaches for swaps wanting Smode.

Taking this route will be cheaper since it wont require a Smode/Nismo trans.

As for the wiring most likely they'll use the signals that both APP sensor give the ECM. So pin #5 and #6 will be the signals for both APP1 and APP2

Good luck.

Neat. It would be sweet if you find a way to retrofit the SRM feature without too much trouble

Xineering is working on it and actually purchased a used gas pedal assembly from eBay for about $30 so they can bench test it for the 6-pin connector.

I was searching through the FSM's (heck, there are only 50+ PDF files that make up the FSM for the 2016 coupe) and found connector no. E112 in the EC.pdf (Engine Control System) on page EC-562. All of the wire colors match to the connector that plugs into the pedal assembly and I then went to the diagnostic section in the same EC.pdf where a tech would troubleshoot wiring issues and I "think" I was able to extrapolate the pin out.

The E112 is:

Terminal 1 - Color "P" (Pink) - Input Signal
Terminal 2 - Color "V" (Violet) - Ground
Terminal 3 - Color "R" (Red) - Input Signal
Terminal 4 - Color "W" (White) - Ground
Terminal 5 - Color "L" (Light Blue) - Power Supply 5V
Terminal 6 - Color "GR" (Grey) - Power Supply 5V

Doesn't quite correlate to your suggestion that pins 5 and 6 are the APP1 and APP2 signals but I could have gotten something wrong.

The Xineering folks did tell me that it can be troublesome to take the Auto-Blip approach and simply "tap" into these two sensor wires as they are pretty low voltage and they run in a specific mapped range. When you tap into them you can mess with that voltage map and cause CEL issues.

Here's a diagram I made of the APP connector. This connector and pins are the same from 2009-2022 370z and 2007- 2013 G35/37 + Q40 and other Nissan and Infiniti that use the same style connector
