Default Guinea Pig Report: Ridies Seat Skins Installed

Original thread for reference. Ridies Seat Covers OE Thread Match

Skins are in, look good but unless you have upholstery experience it's probably not a DIY job.

-The mid back support rods have to be transferred from the old covers.
-Velcro missing in driver bottom front leather section sewing in new is required.
-Seat heat has to be removed from OE and sewn in.
-Airbag pockets required some adjustments.
-He OE headrests are expandable foam structures so trying to pull the old off may destroy them. My friend, a career upholsterer heated and stretched the new skins over the old in lieu of removal.

Besides the above requirements he says they're the best premade skins he's ever worked with fitment-wise, much better than Katzkin. They are full grain leather with microsuede inserts. Not off the shelf stuff all are made to order to your liking.

My gripes with Ridies.

-The thread is lighter than I hoped for as they will send leather samples but not thread so they had to estimate off of pictures I sent.
-There's a field on the online order form for customization. Mine were completely ignored. I then received the skins, called CS and was told I should have called it in. Well guess you shouldn't have the field on your form and note to call in then huh? Their remedy was to charge me full price of the customization notes they missed. I declined on principle.
