Default B Pillar Finisher Grommet Replace

I need to replace the top two grommets (think that is the correct name) for my B pillar finishers. See picture. Do I need to go to the dealer for these or is it something I can get at auto parts store?

Are you sure you need to replace the grommet? There's a pawl on the back side of the b-pillar that is easy to break off if you aren't careful. It inserts into the grommet.

If that grommet is what you need, I guessing you won't find it at an auto parts store. It looks like what you need is identified as 78100H in this diagram.

Yes. Long story short I had to replace the Finishers from a bad windshield replacement....they broke the finishers trying to remove them...I messed up the grommets trying to remove the broken piece from the finishers that was stick inside.

I'm guessing the idiots tried to glue the piece back into the grommet after they broke it. Common half assery...

Nope. Duct Tape. 😅.....For some reason that top piece is built into the finisher and not like the bottom two.

Yup... that's the kicker. That one almost always breaks if you haven't done it before. I keep extras of the other clips around because those break as well but can be easily replaced.

I've had the B-Pillar come off and the top clip has broken off. The bottom clip is still intact and the middle clip is intact but has released from the B-pillar cover. Is there a, reasonably, easy way to get the broken clip out of the top. If I do this, can I just replace the top two clips or will I need to purchase a new cover as well?

Unfortunately, the top pawl is molded to the cover and is not replaceable. You would have to get a new cover to replace it. The middle clip looks like you can just pull out, and I believe you can slide back onto the cover. Safelite put some adhesive on mine for now and is sending me a new one.

Thanks JAR! I was able to get the clips that were left in out, with some needle nose pliers, and just ordered a replacement finisher from Z1.

Does anyone know if there's a trick to getting the new one snapped back in or just line up all the clips and try to push it in all at the same time?!

Maybe I am looking at the B-pillar problem in a different view?
How many times do you need to remove the B-pillar cover?
Is a B-pillar "finisher" the same as a B-pillar cover?
If it is,ZCF has a carbon finisher set for 95 bucks shipped on Ebay. Great high density carbon too.
If the parts under the cover, grommets ,clips etc are damaged, just
use a adhesive(SEALALL is great) and install the finisher over the damage.

Those are covers that go over the oem panel. If you try to use adhesive on the top pawl, the adhesive lets go and the finisher flies off on the expressway, has happened multiple times now to people.

G2carbon has a set of complete panels, runs about $380 depending on c/f and options. https://www.g2carbon.com/product/200...acement-panel/
I should have a set in hand soon. I believe Gbrettin has a set on his ride atm.

Bringing this thread back from the dead as I have a question about the part number 78100H that was referenced by a previous post in this thread. I had a body shop replace an A pillar cover from some attempted theft damage and long story short, they half assed the repair and broke all the B pillar cover clips and just used double sided tape to stick the B pillar cover back on. I ordered a new cover and all the associated clips and grommets that are supposed to secure it to the body including the referenced 78100H. Bottom clips went in just fine, but when it came to the top one it seems to be too small for the hole even with the 78100H grommet and will not clip into the body, I’ve tried double checking diagrams and part numbers and everything is correct according to what Nissan lists, but it seems like I am missing something. The only clue I have to go on is that there is what looks like a circle of old adhesive around the top hole for the B pillar cover and I am wondering if there is a replacement for that or if I should just get some black rtv and just use that to stick this grommet in place. Any input would be appreciated in helping me out with this and thanks in advance

On a limb, could it be this part instead of 78100h?

Unfortunately that’s the exact part I got, when you go to the Nissan parts website the 78100h is actually listed as 76848-35F00 which does not fit the hole that the top post is supposed to snap into, curiously it does snap on to the integrated part that is on the b pillar itself, but outside of that it won’t anchor itself to the body of the car. I at least came up with a solution that hopefully lasts by glueing the grommet to the body with some plastic trim and emblem glue. Now the only issue I have is that I’m also hearing air getting in from somewhere on the side that the body shop replaced the A pillar cover on.
