Post Canada DRL always on

I saw a thread about this back in 2015 but there was no solution posted. My Z was imported from Vancouver BC a while back and my headlights are always on. They turn on from the moment I shift into first and turn on when I turn the engine off. Is there any way to bypass this? Sometimes I don’t want to have my lights constantly on especially if I’m parked with the car on.

Have you tried the off position?

Yes, I guess Canada requires to have all cars’ headlights to be on at all times. And since my car was previously owned in Canada, it has this feature equipped. I’ve heard I can get my ECU flashed. When I go to my tuner in a few weeks, I’ll ask him.

I just tried that and unfortunately the lights still stay on. I have to turn my car off and back on (without putting it into gear) if I want the lights to turn off again.
