Air bag light/ passenger seat issue

So, 105k service was done at the dealer cause I haven't done anything but fluids since new. Diagnosed a bad front wheel bearing, but Z1 Motorsports and YouTube fixed that.

Default Air bag light/ passenger seat issue

So, 105k service was done at the dealer cause I haven't done anything but fluids since new. Diagnosed a bad front wheel bearing, but Z1 Motorsports and YouTube fixed that. Only other issue was air bag light wouldn't stay reset more than a day. Throwing code b1018 which they said was passenger seat "area" Of course, they recommended a control module ($1500) but if that didnt work, a sensor ($450) and if that didn't work, a harness ($400) So, the seat is 4 bolts and 3 plugs. It's out. I'm going to try cleaning all connections first, but while it's
out, has anyone else had to deal with this? I'm thinking sensor since nobody's sat in the passenger seat for 3 years, but my lunchbox was there every day going back and forth 35 miles to n from work.

Download a copy of the FSM (link in my sig).

A Q&D search of the Net says B1018 is probably the seat sensor. As far as I know, Nissan does not sell just the sensor - they want you to buy the whole seat. You can replace with a used seat or bypass the sensor (at least one thread on this site with instructions on how to bypass).

yes it worked, only problem now is the seatbelt light is always on if I don't buckle in passenger seatbelt.
seller recommends disconnecting the belt buckle connector, will try that tomorrow

I bought those seat belt buckle inserts that mechs use so the damn light stays off during maintenance.

We'll try that for the buddy's incoming 370Z project. Got to finish installing firsts the bumpers and smittybilt tailgate on the Wrangler before we can clear the garage and take her in. The previous owner didn't get resolved the airbag light.
