Default Frustrated with getting a rear spoiler

hi all

so i know little about after market car installation for items such as rear spoilers.

I have never installed an after market item on a car.

I have found a nice CF rear spoiler for my 2019 370 however I dont know where to turn to to find out an installation cost. I dont want to go ahead with the purchase without having a rough idea of how much the install cost will be.

it does not require painting.

to make matters worse, the company that sells the spoiler has no idea and no guidance as to where to get it installed and what the install cost will be.

I find this rather annoying that they want to sell an item but cant be bothered to help me get the install done.

any ideas in northern california?

Does your z currently have a spoiler on it? If so, the bolt holes on the new spoiler most likely aren't going to line up with the existing holes. Is the new spoiler going to cover the extra holes in the trunk lid?

If your car doesn't currently have a spoiler on it then it will need to be drilled for the new spoiler. Any good body shop should be able to do the install.

Have you checked with your local auto body or collision centers? Also, which spoiler do you currently have (if any) and which one are you looking to purchase?

wait, why is this hard? Do you not have a phone and internet? you really started a thread about this?

Call your local body shops and get quotes from them, in writing, and voila, YOU'LL KNOW WHAT THE INSTALL PRICE WILL BE

maybe you can also tell us what city you're in, then maybe a member near you can possibly, MAYBE give you a recommendation

Labor rates vary greatly from geographic area to area, so it is logical that a retailer or manufacturer does not have a good estimate for you. Labor in norcal can run $100+ or more per hour; in another state, it might be half that.

Also, as redondo mentioned, whether you have existing spoiler holes that need to be filled will be a big factor. Filling holes is a bitch, and might require paint depending on their location relative to your new spoiler

lastly, if you want help, maybe you should also tell us what spoiler you're talking about

its ludicrous that you started a thread on this topic and have utterly failed at even helping people help you

Where specifically in NorCal?

Reach out to these shops or members.
