Default Interior Headliner and wiring question

Okay, this is gonna sound like a stupid question, but how fragile is the inside headliner up by the front window? I am gonna install a dash cam and intend to tuck the required wiring up into there, but I am super paranoid about breaking or tearing the cloth. So, first to confirm, a wire can be tucked into there, right? If so, any tips?

I fitted a self dimming mirror and connected the wires to the sub light in the interior light.

If you want to mount your dash cam below the mirror you can do what I did and file a groove at the bottom of the rain sensor cover to allow the wires entry to the headlining.

To hardwire my V1 I used a nylon panel tool to gently hold the gap between headliner and windshield open, then wrapped the wires w foam every 6 inches (so they'd stay under the headliner) and inserted/ran the wiring. If you're gentle and patient you shouldn't f*ck anything up too badly.

I'm trying to avoid messing with splicing wires or anything too crazy electrically. Also, not sure, but do our cars have rain sensors? That might be an option I didn't get on my car. Thanks tho.

I am not suggesting you splice wires Í was merely suggesting a route for your wires IF you want to mount your camera below the mirror.

Honestly it was foam I kept from some package I recieved. Soft & pliable, two twists of the wrist with electrical tape.

Another question if anyone cares to answer; Is there a diagram or DIY on how to access the rear hatch wire tunnel (Probably not what its called, but I can't think of better description)? I also have a rear camera and am trying to figure out how to run a wire thru to the hatch window.
