The right way would be blending all the nearby areas

That's pretty fair, assuming they do great work. They could bring it down a hundred or two, ask around.

Im not sure if thats a fair price or not, but it does seem like they upsold you from your original quote. why would a body shop recharge the AC?

Because mine was draining due to me changing the radiator core. 😇

Right. I understand that your AC needs recharging. But a body shop recharging the AC (although recharging isnt difficult) is like having a cardiologist pull your bad tooth. Just seems to me that theyre trying to do things outside their lane, so to speak.. Besides, its COLD in Gilbert right now

I agree with you. Originally I thought I’d be only paint because I did most of the work myself. When I got their it was a shop mainly dealing with insurance. And since I took care of the majority of my claim myself by repairing the damages. I kind of do to say took all the meat off the bones.

Should I get the hood blended if there are rock chips in the hood?

They probably do it more frequently than a mechanic shop does if they handle collisions.

Sure why not? I dont think blending would make the chips bigger.

Might as well repaint the hood if there's chips, depending if they are bad enough to notice

It seems reasonable to me, your not getting a deal but your not getting gouged.

more important question is whether they can match the paint perfectly. Pearl white is not easy to match.

I was quoted 900 for the door blended with paint for fender and bumper. Or 1375 with the hood..

They can if they know what they're doing. For that price, it should look like new. On that, don't sign off if it doesn't match. They CAN get it right, you don't need to accept less than near perfect.

About the paint chips. When I had a bright red car (chips were black) and needed a new front bumper, I asked if the fade could cover the paint chips on the hood. He said painting over them would actually just make them look worse, for whatever that's worth.
