2013 sport DRL to 2015 Nismo DRL install
I've tried searching for this answer but could not come up with anything. Has anyone done a Nismo bumper conversion with OEM DRL's from a 2013 & up model, and can confirm the 2015 Nismo DRL's are plug and play with the stock connectors (no custom wiring necessary)?

I think he's asking if the plugs to the wiring harness are the same. I believe they are, though I haven't looked into it in like a year.
I imagine cooltoy has pictures of the plugs in his magical folder of pictures. |

He asked two questions. I only answered the first one. Just like as you, I think the plugs are the same, but since the lights are such different shape and would require body work to make fit, I did not bother answering the second part.
Regular DRL plug. Nismo DRL Plug

I think I am misinterpreting the question. I think the OP wants to put on a Nismo bumper and NIsmo DRLs using the OEM connectors. The way the question was stated, it looked like he wanted to put OEM Non-Nismo DRL into an Nismo bumper.

I'm another who did the swap too, but every answer so far already hit the nail on the head. The idea of re-using Non-Nismo DRL's with a Nismo bumper isn't impossible. Haven't seen it done before but it would take someone good with cutting and filling. Also, I'm not sure if the bulbs are oriented in a specific fashion to the vertical mounting (as the Nismo DRL's are horizontal) — like I don't know if they end up aiming too far inward or outward. Hated coughing up for the OEM Nismo DRL's, but long term just felt it served better to do it right. |

Good to go
Sorry for not posting this earlier. I see how my question may have been misleading, but yes i was just asking if the OEM 13 connectors on the car would be plug and play with a 2015 nismo DRL. I had already purchased the 2015 nismo bumper and finally coughed up the money for the DRL's. I'm happy with how easy it was.
Thanks all! |
