Fitting 2011 front bumper to 2017 model?

Has anyone tried to replace a 2013+ front bumper with the older version? Are the wheel liners, mounting points, etc the same? I want to re-use the Top Secret lip

Default Fitting 2011 front bumper to 2017 model?

Has anyone tried to replace a 2013+ front bumper with the older version? Are the wheel liners, mounting points, etc the same?

I want to re-use the Top Secret lip from my old car on the new one but it won't fit the shape of the newer front bumper. I've got a spare original front bumper in the garage so I want to confirm if it will fit straight up or if I need other parts?

I have not done it myself but they should be interchangeable without the need of buying additional parts.

If you had the spare just try it out, couldn’t possibly take more than 45 minutes (shouldn’t take that long). I am also pretty sure they are interchangeable

I’m willing to bet the inner fender would need to be changed.

Yeah, I suspect that they will too. I've also got a feeling the mounting points for the pop up hood sensors might be different. I'm hoping someone has already done it to confirm, if not I'll just have to give it a go.

In case it helps anyone, this is a comparison of the old and new style bumpers. They look close enough overall that I'm going to try trim the existing bumper to get the lip to fit. If that fails I'll go back to the older style.

After lots of measurements and templates I’ve decided the gaps between the shape of the lip and the newer bumper aren’t acceptable. Instead I’m working on fitting the DRLs to the older bumper to use the lip that way...

Did you ever figure out if the fender liners are the same mounting points? I'm converting my 13+ front to an 0-12 front for similar reasons as well.

Does anyone make a cheap FRP replica of that lip?

Not yet- I haven't had a chance to get the bumper resprayed yet so I'm still waiting to fit it to the car.

Almost done! Just need to tidy the DRL sealant and make the bracket for the number plate.
