Default Hood release cable routing?

Hi all,

I'm digging deeper into the '12 Nismo Z I'm putting back together, and am having some issues with the hood release. First, the hood cable was disconnected up to where it goes behind the fender when I received the car, so I don't know the proper routing. I've seen a few pictures, but are there any "gotcha's" in routing the cable, or a path that works best?

Also, does anyone have a picture or description of how the cables should be arranged in the little black Y-junction? It looks like the two latch-side cables are installed properly from what I can tell, with each jacket seated in the small section and each barrel end inside of the small metal tab. The pull cable, though, was floating free outside of the junction, though, and I'm wondering if how I put it in there is part of my problem.

Thanks!

The section in the FSM (DLK-183-5) is pretty vague, particularly about placing the cables into the Y ("hood lock control cable protector"), hence the questions.
