2015+ NISMO bumper
Hopefully some of you can help me. I have a 16 silver NISMO and the other day while driving a damn brick flew into my front bumper... needless to say I need a new one. Im a little concerned about buying one unpainted and having a shop paint it. I know the red bits come out but the grey and the black parts look nearly impossible to get the lines straight not to mention get the silver to match. I know it's really my only option so I ordered a unpainted OEM front bumper but I don't know of a really good shop in Houston that can paint it for me. Do any of you have any recommendations in the Houston area? One that I can trust to take the time? I don't mind paying $600-$700 for a good job. I was just going to take the unpainted one have them paint it and then I will put it on. If needed I can even leave the other bumper with the unpainted one so the paint can be matched correctly.
And also those of you that have done the conversions to the new NISMO design how did it come out? Did the shop get the lines straight? I look forward too any feedback, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

A good painter will paint an overlapping fade across the other body panels. It works way better than trying to color match to a line. I would never be satisfied with the color match if they painted just the bumper.

Thought about that too. Only problem is I have expel clear bra on the hood, fenders. So if they fade it I would be removing and replacing that at as well. But that may be what I have to do to get it to look right idk. I just need an experienced persons to take a good look at it.

A second concern I had was the tape job on the front bumper since there are 3 different colors: white, gray, and unpainted black areas. Tape job was good too. Even the OEM paint had flaws in the taping but they both ended up good. Do your research before picking a paint and body shop. Do not hurry, check reviews, ask lots of questions. Make your final pick with the shop you feel comfortable with. |

Thanks for the feedback. Those are my exact concerns as well. Paint match for one, but I know the pearl white has to be more complex to match than the silver. And the tape lines being two. I just don't know who to trust around town. I wish someone would chime in on a good houston shop.
Question, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking and did you remove and replace the bumper your self or did the shop do it? Trying to get an idea of what I should do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Last edited by MCLOVIN; 05-07-2017 at 11:22 PM. |

yeah a good painter will blend with your fender and hood. you'll need to take off the clear bra. and reapply if you want another clear bra. even if a good painter had amazing skills, prepping, applying, etc. color codes with paint will never 100% match, even with the same % of RGB.

If it's not to much trouble do you have any close ups of the work done? Especially the 3 areas when the colors collide? Radiator area, etc.
