Default Passenger Window Seal when door closed - not sealing

Hi everyone,

I just installed new door speakers in my 370z coupe. After the install, my passenger side window does not fully seal. The movement of the power window is fine, the window opens and closes the half inch or so when the door is opened and closed. But the top / closed window point appears to be 1/4 inch lower on the passenger side than the drivers side.

I have tried all the reset instructions I can find on the forums / web (holding the window button down and up), but this does not fix my issue / adjust the height of the window when it is closed. Is there another adjustment or reset electronically to set the window hieght, or could this require some other / manual mechanical config with the window?

Thanks,
Jeff

If you are mechanically inclined, adjustment procedures are in the FSM.

Have you started the car since the install? Try starting the car, operate the windows, then shut the car off.

Yep - I have been on a couple drives since putting the door panel back on. My passenger today actually noticed that the passenger side seat belt was a bit damp, so I looked at why it might be and noticed the passenger window was not quite as high as the drivers side when the window and door was closed...

Might have been like this before the door panel was taken off, but i had not noticed the car / seat belt wet before. It has rained 27 of 30 days in March here in Vancouver, so if the window was low and there was leaking before i did the work yesterday, I assume I would have noticed, which is why I think this is related to removing the door panel...

You said you did all of the resets. I assume that includes the long reset?
With door closed and power to on. Roll window down. Do not hold down all the way. You don't want to be in the auto position. Hold for 20 seconds. Then roll up, again not in the auto position. Hold for another 20 seconds.
This all may be redundant to you, but I wanted to mention it anyway.
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest pulling the negative battery cable for 20 or 30 minutes. You'll have to do a reset after this.

Yep, I tried the long reset as well.

After further, closer inspection tonight, the top edge of the passenger side window is a noticeable amount further out from the car compared to the drivers side window. It is probably 1/8 of an inch, but enough so it is not aligning perfectly with the rubber door / window seal.

I assumed the door panel being removed yesterday for the speaker install caused the window's electronics side of things to have an issue, but looking at the window, I am leaning towards it is actually an alignment issue with the glass and it was already like that before I installed the speaker.

Phoning the dealer tomorrow and will get them to look at it.

Thanks for the tips / help - I will update the thread when I have one.
