Question Plastidip Headlight Housing???

I just received my led concepts halo lights. To install them I'm going to have to open the headlights. While I have them open I'm going to black out the housing inside the headlight.

My question is, would using plastidip be a wise idea? I'm afraid to use normal paint as in Australia I know people who have been defected for blacking out headlights. So I was thinking plastidip just in case I ever do have to remove it.

Plastidip?
Any other suggestions?

isn't the defect usually for smoking them out? if you're just painting the inner housing black shouldn't be an issue. would like to know also though coz i wanna do mine in gold :P

Plastidip is probably a fine choice as long as you prep the surface properly (thorough cleaning with alcohol).

Overtime though, the dip will loose its "dipness" and become more and more difficult to remove, particularly with the heat from the headlight so you will want to spray it on extra thick to counteract this.

I would probably just paint it for fear of the dip starting to peel on me or something and having to open the lights back up to fix it.

According to the Plastidip web site: "Proven in temperatures from -30°F to 200°F"

I'd say Plastidip would be a poor choice for headlights. Especially given the tendency of manufacturers to exaggerate their specs. YMMV

Do they sell the '15+ Nismo with black housing headlights there? If so, just paint it and tell the officer you bought those.

Nooooooo. Long term with the temp changes it'll be crusty. Just use good quality paint.

OP found a shop in South Australia that does headlight customization.

https://www.facebook.com/LoudzCreations/

No Plastidip and since you already have the LEDs might be worth your time to contact them or similar shop to see what they will charge for labor.
