15 Nismo Canards / Dive planes Design Crowdsource
Just trying to help out the community to see how many people are interested in a set of canards for the new 2015 Nismo bumper. I've been approached by several people but in a project like this I need people that are interested to commit as i'm just outing money to design and fab it out.
If there's enough interest, I definitely want to go and do some kind of crowdfunding to get help paying for some 3D printed prototypes and molds, etc. so I won't be deep in a hole for a product that isn't even for me. Previously, I have designed the canards on my 2009-2014 Nismo 370z for track purposes. I took the time to laser scan my bumper, then 3D printed the part and then went into production. So if there's enough interest, I'll start a crowdfunding project - otherwise i'm going to pass. Inputs would be great... - It'd be interesting to know if people here would want pure functional (bigger) vs. pure aesthetic (small) or both (like the one I designed for mine) - Dual (1 on each side) or Quad Canards (2 on each side)? - Material preference? (i.e. FRP - $, Wet layup CF - $$, Vacuumed Infused - $$$?) - Cost? (Duals Canards will probably be around $250-400 for Vacuumed Infused CF, Quad will be more like $500+; as for the FRP and wet layup would be expected cheaper but won't be as nice in quality) The design was based on this: This is a picture of the car I'm getting request for the Canards: |

Interested, would like to see a photoshop of some sort of how they will line up on that corner of the bumper with it having so much going on already.

Agreed, I think that's the only issue I may have. I feel like with the LEDs and canards it would make it pretty crowded. However, I'd ABSOLUTELY be interested in this if it became a reality! Amex is ready. LOL!

Agreed with above two comments. The corner of the 2015+ bumper is busy
Are you trying to make it wrap around the corner? That seems like a complex design to make it fit snugly If it's just a smaller canard thats side mount only it'll be easy, but i'm not qualified to speak to its effectiveness I'd love to see more options for front lips besides the Carbon Signal one |
