Default Dual Halos Question

So ive seen multiple people do the dual halos using the g35/g37 ballast mod. My question is can I do dual halos without do the ballast mod? like put the halo around the turn signal shroud? if so would a 70mm still fit?

usually each led ring has its own module or what you are calling a "ballast". Some led rings only have two wire leads and don't even have a little module box. These modules are usually stabilizing current or reducing the voltage to make it usable for the LED rings.

Ballast are a different item. THey usually take a lower voltage for example 12v, and change that to say 25,000 volts to ignite gasses in a bulb such as HID or fluresecent bulbs. Im not sure if the voltage number here is exactly correct as im just going off the top of my mind but the principle is what im sharing.

Therefore, whether you need one module or two module depends on which rings you buy. usually each one needs one. Would a 70mm ring fit? Hopefully someone gives you answer but you will probably need to dig and do more research to find your answer.

Look closely at the second halo. Part of the painted black shroud has to be cut away to fit a 70mm halo. I believe mine in the pic was a 60mm. Still had to cut some. So you wouldn't be able to get the halo over the blinker lenses and sit back against the blinker lens cover, plus you'd have to use an even bigger halo to go over that blinker, I believe.

Doesnt look like a 60mm woudl fit too well. Heres some pics but its hard to tell the actual size int he picture.
The clear part looks like its one piece and does need to be cut to put a halo. hope this helps.

The point is that even if you find the right size to go over the plastic, it's still so close to the shroud you'd have to cut into the shroud a lot so it would fit. Enough so you probably won't see some of the halo
