Uninstalling older factory DRL's
When I bought the car, it already had these lights on it.
While I didn't love them, I figured, oh well. Now, 8 of 10 of the LED's are out and Nissan tells me there's no way to service these lights so, I want them gone. Knowing what a PITA it is to put these things on, I don't have the knowledge, tools or working area to do this job myself. Whoever I have do the job, will they need to go through the entire horrific process to uninstall these POS or can someone see a shortcut to getting rid of these short of tearing them off? Here's the install instructions if you're unfamiliar http://www.370zcoupe.com/ACCS/1TJ39.PDF Thanks in advance.

I don't think he has a 2013+ bumper... This is some sort of other DRL option.
OP - pics? I've never seen this stuff. edit: Looks like this is what he has: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Nissan.../dp/B00CBJKFGC

Yep, those are the hideous bastards alright. I wrote to Nissan complaining that is was ridiculous that $800 factory installed led lights were not serviceable in any way other than total replacement. No point in buying a new bumper if I have to remove this one to get the lights off. Cost for taking off and putting back on the same plus, I avoid. having to paint a new bumper. What's worse is the install labor time & costs. The dealer wants like $700 Yes, they're out of the orig. 3/36 warranty but, come on, this is just poor product design.

The last few pages of the install instructions show the bumper cover being drilled and cut. Just removing them doesn't sound like a good option to me.
If you still want to remove the DRLs, it looks like you have to disassemble most of the front end of the car.

Judging from the manual, the front bumper has been drilled to have the LED modules sit into it.... So removing them will leave holes in your bumper, get a shop to melt and cover and paint will be costly... Best option is to hit the classify section and see if anyone is selling the front bumper in your color. Looks like you're located in CA, you shouldn't have a problem getting a new bumper for 200 bucks or so. As for removing the old one and installing the new one, it will take a first timer less than an hour if you follow the DIY on this forum, but it is really easy to replace it yourself, saving you a couple bucks of labor. I've taken my front bumper off a few times and can do it under 10 minutes now lol. It can be a fun project for a weekend if you're interested in doing it. Best of luck!

Is there a difference between a stock 09-'11 bumper and one for a Z w/ 'Sport pkg' of the same year or are they the same?

No difference, they're all the same. I just converted my 2014 sport front into a 2015 nismo front and everything looks great, all the holes line up and fitment is 100% OEM.

Sport Package has a little lip at the bottom, but it's removable. Any 09-12 bumper will work for you. You might be able to get away with a 13+ bumper since you're already wired for DRL... Maybe you can connect your current wiring to the new 13+ DRLs.
