So I pulled the fuse for the steering lock
So I pulled the fuse yesterday, and my car been dying on and off. At first I realized it was the terminal being loose. I retighten it. And it just died again.. But keep coming back on and off with the battery. So I decided to put the fuse in .. So far no sign of dead battery yet.. Has any forum members encounter this problem? This is driving me nuts. I mean I understand my car dying at first because of my battery terminal connection being loose.. But everything should be fine after I retighten , and t keeps happening?

How many volts at the battery when the engine is running? Should be around 14 V. If not, your alternator/regulator is not working properly.
How many volts at the battery when the engine is off? If less than about 12 v, battery is probably bad. Did you clean the battery post before tightening the terminal? There may be some corrosion on the post/terminal.

yah, i'd clean the battery post and terminal using sand paper before you re-connect it. chances are ur terminal sparked and caused burn marks and corrosion. Put some switch grease on there too after u clean if u have any.
if ur battery is okay, might want to check ur MAF sensor. it might be dirty especially if u have oiled air filters in there, also your throttle body. |

Cleaning the MAFs is a very easy job - remove two screws (per MAF), remove MAF, spray with MAF cleaner, let dry for a few seconds, replace MAF, replace screws (no gasket needed). Repeat on other side. Takes 5-15 minutes, a screwdriver, and a can of MAF cleaner.
