Default Steering wheel buttons don't work including horn

So I know there's many threads about similar issues but couldn't find a solution to my problem. I recently installed PIE LT headers and it requires you to remove the steering wheel bar. Everything was installed back in and was working including the cruise control and all the steering wheel buttons.
After a day of the installation the cruise control and all buttons stopped working, and don't turn on at all. I have checked all fuses answer relays and can't seen to find the issue. Also cant get rid off the airbag light not even after trying to reset it a few times. Have anyone had this issue before?

Sounds like a broken clockspring.

Can you elaborate on that?

The wiring bundle going to the steering wheel is often called the clockspring. Check the FSM for details (see link in my sig). Since all the buttons quit working, I suspect an unplugged connector or the clockspring has been cut.

No real way to check it, but if you spun the wheel any with the shaft removed, you might as well order one. They only have a limited amount of turns before they stop, so if it was wounded up too much one way, when you went full lock in a turn it would have broke. Usually accompanied by an airbag light.

Yep, most likely the clockspring. Had the same issue on my '10 G37.

More often than not, yes. Not on EVERY occasion, but i'd say yes at least 90% of the time. I believe that Nissan may require that you replace the clock spring if you're replacing the airbag module that has been deployed.

so I know this is a dead forum. I'm having a similar issue after my horn button exploded (bad connector, aftermarket horn button, male to male splice, to close to heat gun). I've replaced the horn button, replaced the clock spring. still having the same issue, the airbag light doesn't turn on, neither does the VDC light. that fix worked, but my media controls and horn don't work, they checked all the fuses at the local motorsports shop. didn't charge me, because they couldn't get it to work. the codes are gone, Mechanic said it might be the wiring harness.

I'm guessing I have to go to an aftermarket friendly Nissan Dealer. which isn't to bad of a drive, if you like road trips. like 45 mins asway, would make a fun day trip tbh.
