Default Ambient Temp/Fuel Level Pod Went Dark

It went out today for a while then spontaneously came back on. This has happened a few times over the summer. Dealership checked it and wants $1600 to replace the Pod. I suggested maybe just a loose connection. They said there are circuit boards or something that rule that out. I'm no longer under warranty. Any possible fixes short of a new pod or living with this intermittent problem?

It sounds like a dirty/intermittent connection to me. I'd PM one of the guys that have stripped out their Z for racing/heavy mods and see if they remember how the electrics hook up.

Part out! 100mile sport edition TOTALED!

Or there is this way around as well. Just cause the last race build tear out sold most of his stuff pretty quick,
This seller still has some things on the part out. Plus they are all fairly new besides being in a crash lol

I would try playing with the dimmer buttons first.....try setting the inst lites to max for a while, and see if there is any change. It's worth a shot.

That's the first thing I'd try. I'm guessing that it's a bad connection but checking the dimmer is easy and no tools required.

If it's not in the dimmer, my next step would be checking all the electrical connections. The FSM (see link in my sig) will have wiring diagrams and physical locations of connectors. In many cases, just unplugging the connectors and plugging them back in will clean the contacts.
