You sure can. Kenchan is one person I can think of the top of my head that has done it himself.

I have a very good friend who has been in the business of installing paint protection film for decades. While there are some areas that I might have been able to do with decent results, I still wouldn't do. The issue is that I consider him to be a top-notch installer; he doesn't do pre-cut pieces, instead a patch of film is custom fitted and cut on the car (nope, no paint is cut) with folded edges especially for the leading edge of the hood. On a partially-covered hood, there is only one visible seam and the rest are neatly tucked away.
Pre-cut pieces also leave too much exposed area at the edges and, in most cases, the protected area is smaller and in multiple pieces to minimize work needed to stretch and shrink. I have seen many cars done in pre-cut kit including my own Z06 (installed before I met him) and I will never have pre-cut installed on any of mine. |

Clear bra
Yes I believe I can do it. We did hand cut fabricating for years. Same principals here. Just clear. I'll buy a ten ft roll and fab from there. . But will watch many more videos. Aircraft layup was all hand cut before we got equipment to pre cut our plies. New owner pearl white. Thursday 7/17. Woo hoo

yep, turned out great. i used the Xpel Ultimate precut on my 09 front bumper. coverage is excellent. the store also gave me a-pillar covers as well so installed that too. i forget there's clearbra on there often. i also bought a generic 6" roll to do the rockers. |
