Shine auto amuse spoiler question
So I bought the Shine Auto Amuse spoiler for my Z. I had always been told that it would cover all of the bolt holes but my body shop guy brought me in this morning and the holes are not covered, all of the way at least. the spoiler covers 1/4 of the holes but not the other 3/4 of them. Now we have to weld them up and do a lot more work.
My question is, are the holes supposed to be covered by the spoiler? Has anyone had this issue? Yes I looked at multiple threads but it seems that everyone else had the spoiler cover the holes. |

I have not heard of any issues. Are you sure your body shop lined up things properly? Did you have a look yourself? Don't let them do anything until you do.
Which holes are exposed? It is on the back, you can see that the way the Amuse wing sits, it covers the third break light opening and there are no holes below that. So there should be no issues there.

I should have the car back today. The spoiler was flexed and made it not fit correctly so they heated it up and flexed it back. I will post the finished pics shortly.

Car looks impressive and well executed Mike.
However, I would like to point out one thing. You cannot heat fiberglass/carbon parts back to shape. If that is what your body shop told you, they are taking you for a ride. Most likely, they didn't install it correctly from the get go. Fiberglass (FRP) parts are thermosets. Once they cure, the shape is set. It cannot be reheated like thermoforms to take on an altered shape. Polyurethane parts are considered thermoforms. |
