Question Rear fender liners on the nismo

Hey everyone, I recently stopped by my local Nissan dealership and noticed there was a new 370z Nismo in the showroom so of course I had to check it out

I quickly noticed that the new z has rear fender liners, I tried looking them up but couldnt really find much on them. Does anyone know if they could be used on the older style z, it would be nice to get rid of some of the annoying road debris noises that are constantly present with the z!

I attached some pictures that I took quickly, they're not the best but you'll get the jest of it.

So the new nismo no longer has rolled fenders? Wonder if this makes a big difference in noise or something, why nissan would make this change?

I noticed this too a couple weeks ago while having my tires changed. Looks like a sound dampening material, probably to try and take car of the horrible noise made when riding over rough roads and kicking up small pebbles with our massive, sticky rear tires.

I guess I haven't checked the current rear fender liners, but are they much more different? I would LOVE to get the info on these new liners and see if they fit a '13

Don't think they will fit, according to the pictures the new rear bumper has clips where as ours are rolled. You would have to rig up some type of thing to hold the liner up in there.

When I checked they are still rolled but the fender lip sticks out too much

The fenders are still rolled, the lip you are seeing is from the flares that come on the new Nismo. The liner is held in by a handful of clips, and two small studs sticking down from the inner side of the rear quarter panel. I'm not familiar with the old style, but if you don't have the holes already, and are willing to drill a handful of holes it would go right on.

Does the old Z not have any rear liners at all?

Thanks for the photo!

No, there is no liner Should I use self tapping screws where there should be a clip/bolt?

I would suggest drilling out the same size hole and use the clips. Self tapping screws aren't my favorite. Plus if you drilled them and used clips you could paint the exposed metal to keep it from rusting up.
