magnetic phone holder

So I wanted to put this magnetic phone holder on the dashboard to hold my phone. It attaches with 3M adhesive. Would this be a safe place to set it?

Default magnetic phone holder

So I wanted to put this magnetic phone holder on the dashboard to hold my phone. It attaches with 3M adhesive. Would this be a safe place to set it? I don't want to take it off someday and rip the leather on dash.

The adhesive strip may leave a permanent mark on the dash even after cleaning it.

Adhesives tend to lose grip when heated so they often fail in the summer, especially if you have a heavy phone.
