Default Forced Induction gauge setups

Just wondering what others are running for your gauges with forced induction, like what gauges and where they are installed. I was originally planning on using the factory gauge pod for oil press, boost, and A/F but apparently that spot is a pain to mess with so now considering the idea of A pillar pods.

Most people use one of Gale's A pillar pods. I'm running boost and AFR on the pillar, and a scangauge with water temp, timing, iat and throttle position on a blendmount above the rearview mirror.

what is it about the factory gauge pod that makes people not want to re-use it for aftermarket gauges?

You basically have to pull the dash to put new gauges in. Also, all three OEM gauges are one piece behind the dash, so you have to replace them all instead of just one or two.

I already have defi boost and oil press gauges (not installed yet obviously) and am buying A/f gauge soon. In my case would it be worth it to pay someone to install gauges in factory locations considering I would still have to buy a a pillar pod and that still would only hold 2 of the 3?

That's up to you. It would be a cleaner install in the dash. It just depends on how much you want to spend.

I was thinking the same thing so I decided to get a third matching one and installed A/F in the cubby hole which its the easiest of all.
