magnetic phone holder

So I wanted to put this magnetic phone holder on the dashboard to hold my phone. It attaches with 3M adhesive. Would this be a safe place to set it?

It attaches with 3M adhesive. Would this be a safe place to set it? I don't want to take it off someday and rip the leather on dash.
