Dumb newbie question, what's the light on the rearview mirror?

Last night I noticed a dim amber light coming out of the bottom of the rear view mirror. What the hell is that thing? I tried a search and haven't found a reference in the manual yet.

Out of the bottom of the mirror? Is that something new? I don't recall ever seeing one on my '13.

That I DO have. I read it as 'out of the mirror'. I thought the green light on the mirror just turns off the auto dimming. That's a whole 'nother thing.
