Default trans oil??

Earlier today, I stopped at the local auto parts store. I planned on getting an off the shelf oil but they did not have any that was factory "rated" for my 2010 nismo.

What trans oil are you guys/gals using? How many quarts do I need?

I'm going to change my trans oil when I install my new clutch and fly.

Try this one:
I recommend you change your differential oil as well.

Any brand 75w-85 gear oil that is for GL-4 applications will work. A lot of people use Redline. The transmission holds 3qrts

I've had good luck with either a mix of Redline MTL and MT90 or Redline MT85. The MT85 takes less time to warm up.

I also ran MT90 in my S14 and was happy with it. In that car (maybe the Z?) a lower sulfur fluid was nicer to nissan's cheap synchros.

OP, your next question will be where to buy Redline Prodcuts. Either buy online or search Redline's website for a retailer near you. Some of the big chains (Autozone/Advance/OReily) may also carry some Redline products.

Not saying Redline is the best fluid, but I've had good luck with it.

Autozone/Advance/O Reily dont carry them. Best bet is Z1 or Redline website.

Autozone/Oreily carry a few Redline goodies (like water wetter).

I really did not want to order oil. GRR!!!!!! I might have to call around and see what to local part store carry.

I changed my rear differential oil 2 oil changes ago. There was some dark stuff coming out when I took out that plug. I'm changing my rear differential cover at the same time so old oil is going anyways. I think I got the Redline for the rear diff. It came with the diff kit from Z1.

I use Amsoil MT fluid, 75w90, GL-4. It works well. I would not put a straight 85w or 90w oil because it will be very very stiff to shift in cold weather.

Mine has the Neo brand fluid for both the trans and differential. Shifts quite well.

I'm sure there are some race shops that stock it in your area. Luckly I live in the heart of Nascar so there are oodles of speed shops haha.

I was going to work on the car this weekend but it's raining and a little chilly. I will do it next week if it's nicer. Now I have time so I'm going to order the stuff. I need to buy 3 of these correct?

Red Line (50504) MT-85 75W-85 GL-4 Manual Transmission and Transaxle Lubricant - 1 Quart
