Is this normal or something wrong with my car?

Seeing all the 370z exhaust videos on youtube. Some of the autos on there sounds like they can rev pass 5000rpm.

I have a manual Z, but on my other Auto's, they never redline when revving. Only when accelerating.

Does your car rev normally while accelerating in gear. A lot of cars will limit rev's while in neutral or park. I'll be happy to try on my 7at in the morning if no one chimes in with an answer.

Normal. The FSM has details. The car has a strong self-preservation instinct.
Zoren 370 and watson853 like this.

I agree. Thats first thing I learned about the "No-Load Reving" feature on the 7AT

Op,

For the most part you kinda can get up to around 4,500 before it stops so it may look or sound like its 5k But in reality the feature wont allow it.

I know the 6MT guys have this feature also, But if they put it in gear? They can rev past 5k.

Not starting a one is better than another discussion here, Im just pointing out that both have this feature.
