built motor boost capacity
Hey guys this winter I am completely building every possible part for an idea/goal I have and need some advice. I want to stick with a supercharger but I'm switching from a vortech v3 to a v7 which can produce up to 30lbs of boost. My question is how many pounds of boost can our built motors hold if a supercharger is the source of the boost. I want to try for 700 at the wheel from a supercharger because I have yet to see someone on the forum with those numbers via SC.

That question is completely dependent on what you do to your motor so no one can answer that question really... In a way, you answered your question yourself. Its uncharted territory so build her and let us know how she holds up

I haven't, but then I've only owned a Z for about 8 months. Is there a big community? I see quite a few 350s around Frederick but only a handful of 370s. It would be cool to see what others have done to their cars... I'm always looking for ideas.

Don't worry so much about boost but rather how much your turbo flows. I can run a 60mm turbo at 30psi of boost to get 700whp or run a 76 mm turbo at 20 psi to achieve the same thing. That's just an example. People get to hung up on the boost pressure.
Also, to get 700whp out of a supercharger will be tough; nearly impossible. We don't have enough displacement in our motors to do such a thing. GT500's are getting up to that HP mark but have a 5.4 L V8 with a huge blower. If you want that kind of power, get a turbo setup. R.K. |

Currently there is a car running 700-800whp with a TT setup pushing 20-25PSI with a built motor.
On a SC setup, it is tough to estimate power output as most going for larger numbers switch to a T or TT setup as it scales a lot easier.
