I'd go ahead and get a battery tender but it should be OK for that short amount of time - assuming your battery is in good shape. Not a good idea to disconnect the battery on modern cars but it's not the end of the world, either.

However, like mentioned, I would invest in a $20 battery tender. I just got back from a 3 week vacation and didn't touch the car for almost 4 weeks. Car started up just fine once I removed the battery tender.

removing the negative cable never hurts but only if its in your garage, and leave the window down just a crack so it doesn't get caught on the doorframe

You don't need to do anything. If your car doesn't start after two weeks you either have a weak battery that needs replacing or an alternator that's not charging your battery properly or a combination of the two.

I travel for months at a time. If you have a good battery. It will be fine, but I would get a tender especially if you live where it's hot. It will extend the life of your battery
