09 clutch issue
So I've had my 370z for a bout 1year now and it has 70k miles...my issue is that since I've had my car it's been to the dealership about 10 times because my clutch has issue on losing pressure.. I've already replaced the clutch petal assembley, master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch line, throw out bearing, new clutch kit... The Nissan dealership sais that the fluid keep getting burned and they still can't figure it out... What is the problem?? What could it be??

french cars are not reliable. idk why no one in Nissan stepped up to tell ceo Ghosn to stuff it. his renault lineage made a mess out of some Nissans.

I love French cars. The Citroen DS is the coolest looking car of all time. I'm looking to buy a Citroen 2CV if anyone has one cheap. They might not be the most reliable, but they sure have style...kind of like the French women.

My suggestion is you get rid of the OEM CSC. ZSpeed offers a heavy duty version, and Z1 Motorsports offers a CSC delete kit. I just ordered the Z1 kit earlier this week.

It would catch fire on the assembly line.

The stock Z is a "Sports" car, not a "Race/Drag" car, and it just can't handle rough treatment without modding money spent on weak areas. I'm not trying to justify the plastic CSC, it should be more robust, but if that didn't break, something else would from the rough treatment. What causes the Master Cylinder to fail? It's cheap I guess, and can't withstand repeated scraping of the O Ring in oil with clutch fluid nasties in it. Last edited by Fountainhead; 05-15-2014 at 08:53 PM. |

Well I'm not to sure why Nissan always tells me that the fluid is black/burnt.. They say that they put GTR fluid etc etc...but the problem always come back.!! And another thing is that somtimes the clutch pedal looses a little bit of pressure while I'm driving and minutes later it will be back to normal.. I need some serious help!!! I don't want to trade my car in for somthing so stupid that Nissan can't figure out

Hmm, didn't know other Nissan vehicles were failing also. I mean there are random failures on here on a regular basis but just often enough to keep us all paranoid but just.....below panic mode and massive Nissan recall. I think I see more guys with repeat failures than with first time failures.
As to the other Nissan cars with failures some people can tear anything up. I think I'll google the sentra and altima failures. You know of course, standard trannys will eventually go away and then vigorous drivers will find the weak link there too. A system is only as strong as it's weakest component. |

My neighbor across the way, his brand new MT Stingray, the clutch pedal went to the floor the other day....came back up, but I swear about a week ago I asked him had he checked his fluid, was it black, dirty, etc., and he didn't know. Not a car nuts and bolts guy. Anyway, it was funny that a car that cost 2x as much as mine has the same problem I do. Told him was his master cylinder or boiling fluid. Warranty time!
