Default VDC OFF, SLIP light still illuminates

Today I disabled my VDC and the "VDC OFF" illuminated on my dash as it should. Once I turned onto the street and stepped on the gas which normally would kick out the rear end, I noticed the car cutting power to stop that from happening and the SLIP lights illuminating on the dash, acting exactly as if my VDC was enabled. I never recall this happening with the year and a half of owning the car. This just happened right as I got to work so I didn't get a chance to really test it some more, so maybe it'll operate as it should once I restart the car. Just wanted to get some feedback on this before doing so.

VDC Off cuts off everything except the yaw sensor. I don't think it messes with the throttle just the brakes but I am not sure.

When you turn VDC OFF, the car will no longer cut throttle when slip is detected. However, the ABLS feature is still active and is applying the brakes to the wheel(s) where slip is detected (the slip light will flash when ABLS is triggered). You just have to overpower the ABLS braking with more throttle.

Ok, this makes sense. Strange I never noticed the slip light activate before with the vdc off, maybe I just never payed attention.

Noticed this yesterday also under heavy acceleration, while the *** end of my car was going almost completely sideways after the 1-2 shift that this slip light came on even though the VDC was disabled. I was able to over power the brakes by maintaining full throttle through to the 2-3 shift and beyond while still mostly sideways at the *** end. Not an easy task while drinking a Caramel Machiato through the visor opening of my racing helmet and listening to a Mix CD which I have made with nothing but National Anthems and Morse code on it.

Car is a 6-speed Manual.

Some say that you had to give up binge drinking now that it’s got to £1.18 a litre. All we know is he’s called the
