Default Clutch Masters Clutch/flywheel set-up

Hey guys, I'm looking to get a new Clutch/Flywheel when I replace my CSC with the Zspeed unit. I've used the Clutch Masters FX300 w/ Steel Flywheel on my previous car and liked it. I'm looking into getting the same set-up with my Z except this time going with the Aluminum Flywheel (13lbs). CM seems to have the lightest flywheel for our cars and is a reputable company which is why I was a little curious why nobody on the forum runs them. Is there some issue that i dont know about? Any input or experience with CM products on a 370z would be greatly appreciated.
z man likes this.

i personally have never heard of them before, i run JWT because they are a local company and specialize in Z parts

if you have experience with their company i say go for it and post a review

The only thing that concerns me is that its the lightest flywheel @ 13lbs and no one runs it. How light is too light?

I was looking for the lightest myself as I want it to rev as quickly as possible. I understand the noise and chatter will go up but I can deal with that as long as the flywheel is functional. 350z's have 9lbs flywheels, why can't we have one like that? Are 350z flywheels interchangeable with ours?

Never heard of that company either. But eventually I will get a steel flywheel from southbend. It's about 23 lbs and I saw vid of it not being noisier than stock. You probably don't wan't to go to light like the 9 lbs your talking about unless just a track car. Plus it probably will sound like a diesel.

Most people go with JWT clutch/fly combo.

11lb act in my 350z was like a cement mixer, the 14.5 southbend in the 370z is noticable but not overbearing...granted they are different powerplants the 350z reved much quicker.

I have the Kevlar (DXD). Only way to go IMO. Long break in procedure but best clutch period. It's louder than any other clutch but it's a mans clutch. Grabs great.

Just the "TZ-R" Clutch (Rigid disk) is that noisy, All other South Bends are much quieter

the 07-08 clutch and flywheel should fit our 370zs, iirc JWT is using a 07-08 350z flywheel and clutch for our cars, not entirely sure though, i didnt ask the last time i was there
