You need more than a gallon to do an oil change.
A gallon is 4 quarts, you need 5.125 (5 and 1/8th) to do an oil change

What he said on quantity (5 + 1/8th qts), so buy a total of 6 qts (you'll have enough left over for another 7 changes, making additional 5 qt purchases each time).

New crush washer isn't a bad idea, but not critical. i change every two OCI's or so.

A lot of folks on here like the HP1008 K&N oil filter.

BTW, no difference on those oils -- just the quantity and packaging.

You always need a new crush washer. Reusing an old crush washer is asking for an oil leak.
Plus its $1, you're gonna pay $10/quart for redline oil than skip out on a crush washer.

I use used brake line copper washers several times now. Never leaks. You can use any kind of a washer as long as it isn't damaged or distorted to begin with. I only change my oil once a year also. Guess you don't need a new crush washer, eh?

Should be fine. I've only ever heard horror stories associated with Fram filters.

Never even used a crush washer before till I got a Z. Never had any noticeable oil leak either. From the oil test reports that I have seen any major brand synthetic of the correct weight will serve you just fine for any road driving for the life of the car.
