Low oil pressure indicator light after oil change GTM SC Stage 1
I changed my oil and the oil filter adapter screw came out of the oil filter relocation housing when I spun off the oil filter. I screwed it back in and changed the oil as usual. When I started the car, the oil indicator light never goes off. The adapter screw is completely threaded, but there is a short and a long end of threads. Does anyone know the correct orientation? Does the short or long end thread into the relocation housing? Picture below with an arrow pointing at the adapter screw. I have already done another complete oil change with a new filter and the light still stays on. The oil pressure switch appears to be fine. There is a single brown wire going to the sensor and it is intact. Never had this much grief from a simple oil change |

First thing I'd do is check the connector at the sensor. Inspect sensor/connector pins. Make sure you get it plugged back in properly.
Make sure you didn't pull any wiring loose. The sensor may have been damaged. The FSM should have testing procedures.

Glad to hear that it's fixed and that it was so cheap.
Could you tell what caused the failure?

Traced the wire from the connector into the engine bay, and no fault. Drove up the Nissan, got a new sensor for $22, tore apart the GTM oil filter adapter kit, and replaced the sensor. Put on a new filter for kicks, put the oil filter adapter kit back together, and refilled the car with oil. No more oil indicator light 4 seconds after the restart. |

Anybody want to riddle me this one ....
So I changed my oil today, for the first time since this post back in October. I am not a moron, but the f$cking oil pressure light came on again. Jack the car up on stands, drain out the old oil, remove and screw on a new oil filter, lower the car down so it's level, and refill with new oil to almost the H mark. Start car and wait up to 45 seconds and the low oil pressure light never goes off. So I tore apart the GTM oil filter relocation kit, removed the oil pressure sensor (the one I replaced in October at the last oil change), cleaned it with compressed air, and then put every thing back together. And guess what, with new oil and another new filter, that damn light is still on. There is only 1 brown wire to the sensor and the wiring looks fine all the way up into the engine bay. Plus the sending unit was new from the last oil change back in October. Anybody have an idea. Give the location of the GTM oil filter relocation kit, getting a gauge into the block is going to be difficult to determine pressure. I guess I will get another oil pressure sensor and change the oil for a 3rd time. |

Check switch electrical ground. My guess is that you have high resistance from the switch to chassis/battery, possibly where the adapter bolts onto the frame or maybe too much thread sealant on the switch threads.

So the gtm kit re locates the pressure switch as well? On hondas when people use too small of an oil filter the will set vtec solenoid low oil pressure codes, I know its a long long shot but maybe try a bigger filter, the nissan filter is pretty small.
