K&N Cold Air Intake Installation Question
Is it really necessary to disconnect the neg battery cable. Quote "Disconnecting the negative battery cable erases pre-programmed electronic memories." All we are doing is unplugging the Mass Air Sensor. Is disconnecting the battery necessary, or is this CYA regarding all electrical work???

i didn't unplug the battery when i did my intake installs. hell, i dont unplug my battery when i do stereo installs either.
might make the work easier to remove the front strut bar, but probably not needed unless you're doing the post maf tubes. |

i think the precaution is for someone not to accidentally start the car without the maf's plugged in. oh and a few more seconds to reset the windows maybe? |

just to impress people at the toll booths and drive-thru's for no reason, i would crank open the windows smoothly as if i had luxurious power windows. |

It helps the ECU learn quicker that there's more airflow

If you tune a car, you flash the ecu, dyno it, and done. In the seconds the car starts and runs it has no time to learn anything. The tune is the tune. I've never agreed with this. If I'm wrong, there has to be someone out there that's dyno'd, changed a part, dyno'd again, then left for a 50 mile drive, came back and dyno'd again I'd love to see.
