Default Oil Cooler Shroud?

I have a 25 row Setrab cooler from Z1 Motorsports. It does have the thermostatic plate, but I am still not thrilled with how the oil comes up to temp (or what temp it runs) in the cooler weather. I was hoping to just pop on an oil cooler shroud in the winter months, but it doesn't look like Z1 sells one.

Can anyone point me in the direction of one that might fit my cooler? If not, other ideas on building something myself?

I'm pretty sure SPOHN has a DIY for that. Probably others as well. Search is your friend.

I tried the search before posting and am not coming up with anything. Perhaps I am using the wrong key words. If it's an easy search as you've indicated would you mind linking me to something or throwing out what you used to find the DIY?

Thanks

I'll usually try the site search first but I haven't had good luck with any but the simplest of searches (probably my ignorance on how to use it).

If I don't find something after a try or two, I'll go to Google and prefix my search string with "site:www.the370z.com ". Eg, in this case I'd start with something like "site:www.the370z.com cooler cover" or "site:www.the370z.com cooler block". "... cooler plate" would probably return a lot of hits for the adapter plate, so I'd save that one for last.

From my experience on this forum and others, I've found that I get better responses if I tell a little bit about what I searched for before I asked the question. Eg, "Trying to find info on this. I tried searching for 'this', using the site's search function, but only found ...". I don't always do it but it seems to help when I do.

I just did my 34 row with the same materials and now the oil temp stays between 180-200 degrees.

I'm curious to see what GTM's new oil pan (baffled +3qt capacity) will do on a NA setup with no cooler. Plus it's cheaper than a OC kit.

Glad you mentioned this, I had not seen it. My 25 row OC isn't cutting it on the extreme and I was going to go to a 34 row next summer. However, perhaps keeping the 25 and going with the new oil pan is an alternative route.

Of course with the 25 row I think I am +/- 2 extra quarts of oil over factory, add another 3 and my oil changes would start to get close to the 11 quarts I need for the 911.

Wink

The Z1 34 row oil cooler and the AAM oil pan spacer is about 8 quarts total. Oil change with filter takes 7 quarts. Duct tape across the oil cooler in colder weather. All I have to do is reach through the grille to add or remove the tape to adjust the oil temperature I want.
