Default Which oil filter ensures a proper seal with stillen oil cooler sandwich plate?

Fairlady Z owners,

To whoever has stillen race oil cooler for the 370z, which oil filter did you chose as fram has the worst reviews. I got the K&N HP-1005 as recommended by one of the members yet to come to my surprise, it is completely different (smaller rubber seal) compared to fram ph3950. Another member recommended the K&N HP-1008? however non of the posts had a follow up on their experiences.

Will K&N HP-1008 work with stillen sandwich plate?
What is the alternative? Only for the ones who got the oil cooler from Stillen.

Cheers guys

Have to echo the same. I'm using the sandwich plate that came with my Z1 cooler a (sorry, can't remember which brand), and am using a stock Nissan filter. Can't imagine the Stillen plate would have a very dissimilar face.

I think oil filters really come into play when your car is high mileage and when your trying to push your mileage between changes a little farther. Most of us change our oil no more then 6000 miles. Turbo guys a lil sooner

Does Stillen make their own sandwich plate? I've got the GTM oil cooler and there's no issue with the OEM filter except it's a tight fit getting it on and off. I have a feeling all of the oil coolers on the market (except Mishimoto most likely) use the same sandwich plate. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Bosch D3312

Here in the states 99% of Walmarts stock them on the shelves, they aren't too cheap though, IIRC they are $13

No, they don't, if you do a decent amount of digging you can get the answer, or shoot me a text, you have my number. Lol

Really? I'd figure that they would all use an off the shelf Mocal plate. Seems like a silly thing to reengineer when there's great reasonably priced options out there already.

They don't use a MoCal because it says "MoCal" on it, and if the consumer price is $100, let's they can get it for $50 (I bet it costs more to then actually) vs the plate they currently use costs ME less than $32 shipped

(But YES, it is an off the shelf sandwich plate, just not a MoCal)
