Competition Twin Disk Clutch Review :
Time driven - about 9 months:
Some of you may know my build (OmegaRED). If not, that’s fine. This is the first in a series of reviews for the parts used in my build. First up, Competition Clutch 370z Twin Disk Racing Clutch will be the topic of this review (which is still not listed on their website). I will describe my stock setup and then move into the review so that you have something to compare it with. First I would like to note that I removed my clutch helper spring located on the pedal assembly. That in itself made the stock clutch feel much better and manageable. Fortunately, I never had any of the random clutch engagement issues that others seemed to have. The Competition Clutch unit was installed @ ZEROLIFT Autolab (Fairfield, OH) April-June 2012. At the same time, Z-Speed CSC, and SS braided lines were installed. My first impression was that these guys got me and just claimed to have installed parts. After speaking with John (ZEROLIFT’s ace mechanic), he assured me that HE installed all of the parts in my build to the letter. He stated that the install was difficult for one reason or another, primarily because it had never been done before. So I either got the first or one of the first for the 370Z. To me, this clutch feels like the stock clutch in terms of pedal feel. I feel that it is easy, smooth, and VERY predictable. It still chatters like the stock clutch, but that is to be expected. Whether you are creeping away from a stoplight or launching at 5k RPMs, this clutch takes the load and puts you in motion. Also note, that I am putting down around 530-540 on 10.4 PSI (target was 12PSI, but my WG springs are too small). I DD on low boost and it sits around 0.5/0.6 BAR which is around 7.5-8.9 PSI. I have no idea how much power that puts down, but the clutch just eats it up like nothing. Future plan is to build the motor and up the low boost to 10-12 PSI and high boost to something interesting. I will provide updates periodically to keep you guys filled in. I would like to provide as much information as I can to the community, so feel free to ask me to fill in the blanks if I have left something untouched.

That is a very good question. I am going to need that information as well, before I turn up the boost. I will report back as soon as I have the info.
Edit: Robert @ Zerolift stated that they claimed that it could handle 900wtq when they brought in to Zerolift. Not sure if I can test that number in my car's state. Once I do my engine build, I plan to get a little crazy with my high boost setting and tune, but I didn't plan on going that high.

This unit is the organic disk material and rated at 750 lb/ft torque max. The ceramic disk material unit is rated at 850 lb/ft.
There have only been a few units produced and I only know of 3 others through discussion with Competition Clutch personnel. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
