Question OSGiken LSD purchase questions!

So after scouring the forums for about 2 hours and doing my part to try to figure things out on my own I haven't come to any certain conclusions so I'm hoping people will help out and chime in.

I want the OSGiken LSD, I found the part number I need which is OS NS111-HA. Same LSD as the 350z MT.

I have a 2013 base sport 370z (stock vlsd) and there are mixed responses on serveral issues. Now some of the other threads that I read up on had such erratic responses that I didn't always know which question was being answered so I ask that anyone providing answers please number it according to question. For the sake of my sanity...

1. Does a sport model 370z need extra parts to install the LSD?

2. If so, What other parts are required? Can they be ordered directly from Nissan (part numbers?)

I got very confused with this because some people said yes, some said no, some websites (z-1 performance) said yes and they had a package, some websites (forgedperf) didn't say anything at all.

3. What is the price if not MSRP ($1600 roughly)?

I ask this question because I read a thread (also regarding the OSG LSD) where a lot of people thought that $1600 was apparently rather high and that it must have been MSRP price. Well so far as I know unless you've got the hookup people generally pay MSRP price for parts. Perhaps someone who has purchased the LSD can tell me what they paid up front, not including install.

Also if any vendors would PM me their best prices that would be awesome. Otherwise I'll be reaching out privately to some of the vendors that helped out the other threads that I've read.

These are my major concerns. If more arise during the course of this thread I will append it to this post.

Thanks for reading.

The diff was designed for the early model 350z. You will need the stub axles from that particular model. From the models with the open diff. The nissan part number is 38220-JK01B. You also need the ABS trigger wheel from the early model 350z.

The diff should just go right in. OS Giken does recommend the finned cover or an aftermarket cooler hooked up due to lack of airflow over the rear diff cover.

Sending you a message with some more info!

Thanks,
Alex Goodwin

Thanks for the quick response and the part number! I read somewhere that it's possible to just modify the existing part. I'll have to look at the part and see if that's possible as well.

Anyone know if the OSG LSD needs to be broken in for 1500 miles or is it ok to start drifting out of the box? :P

It doesn't require being broken in but I would for just a little. And never use any other oil than the OSG fluid.

Lightbulb Building a rear diff propper...

1) The '13 base sport will require another left stub shaft (38220-1NC1B)...see my linked posted---->
checklist of bldg a rear diff
-*note* number 7 on that list is specific to CAP YanX since his sensors were missing!

2) I'm assuming you have low miles on your '13 model, probably just need the following Nissan parts: 43262-01P1A drive pinion lock nut, 38189-P0117 pinion front oil seal, 38165-0C020 collapsible spacer, 38342-P9010x2 seal-oil, diff side, (pinion height adjusting washer, side bearing adjusting washers--->all of these parts are variable and a professional rear end builder will know what spec'd part to order)

3) I bought mine from Titan Motorsports in '10 for ~$1.4k. I would check THM motorsports price cuz they seem to beat Titan at present!

X) Don't forget to upgrade the final drive gear while you got the diff out. It would be a sorry waste to upgrade the LSD and not go to a lower final drive.

P.S. The OSG LSD is loud too. You will hear a loud *BANG/POP* when it unlox. Not as bad as the Nismo LSD though from my limited Xperience hearing/seeing the Nismo LSD.

^ my OSG doesn't make any noise. Ever! Had it for a year now. Are you using the OSG fluid? That's a must.

Nismo Factory JDM Differential Finned Cover 38351-350DK - Nissan 350Z Infinti G35

It says it's for 350/g35 but from what I know it should work for the 370 as well right?

Rear diff breather (this has to be pressed in): 38356-JL00A $5+

Nismo rear diff AL finned rear cover 38351-350DK $125+

Silicone vac hose 6mm for the diff breather ~ 1.5ft $7+

An additional LEFT flange for the OSG LSD: 38220-JK01B $140

SPL rear differential bushings $165+

So it seems like aside from the install and the LSD itself these are the other parts that are essential (other than the fins but they help with cooling so...) for the installation. Add on the misc washers that you said mentioned are variable.

I'll make to let me shop know about these parts. Thank you guys so much for your help. Keep the posts coming if anyone sees anything that may be missing!!

1) Yes, the NISMO rear cover for teh R200V bolts right up to the 370Z rear diff (same diff basically).
2) My Nismo AL rear diff cover didn't come w/a breather that I remember...
3) Silicone hose to replace the stock rubber POS hose that you will break the plastic terminal when removing the stock diff!
4) The additional left flange part number 38220-JK01B is the old part number for '09 and '10s. See post 8 for yours.
5) SPL rear diff bushings if you want to get rid of launch wheel hop.
X) I don't use the uber Xpensive OSG fluid. I refuse to pay $51 a quart for that shi! IMO, only needed if the car is tracked.
