Hi all,
I have an AT model and the autobox is typical slug when it comes to maintaining revs. Sure most of the time I drive using the paddles but the time when i am in auto an want to quickly get past something the car is sluggish as it is in maybe 6th, and if I have to really the foot down to get it to move, so it drops 2-3 gears and the engine is in very high revs and screaming which is just not needed. A few years back I drove an AT v6 Mustang which had Sport mode. It was just a button that meant the car maintained at least 3000RPM which made using auto mode and overtaking a breeze. Has anyone (and I don't hold out much hope as most here seem to be on MT) ever tried to get something like this fitted to the 370? I am imagining a remap of ECU with a switch that changes it between slug and sport mode. ie in slug mode it uses OEM map and flick switch it goes to marinating higher revs for ease of overtaking. |
