SPAL fans for stock radiator?
Anyone on here have any info on doing this? I haven’t been able to find anything. Really hesitant on swapping my radiator after the csf common leaks and I simply refuse mishimoto anything. Want to keep ac for now so no koyo…which sucks.
Just got my car out finally in hot weather driving pretty aggressive on the track and my coolant temps started climbing so I was taking cool down laps. I’m running a gtm Stage 2 sc, have amuse kit for airflow, fully vented hood, 25 row setrab oil cooler “gtm” and z1 ps cooler. Open to all Input here just debating on new fans as a no matter what since I am planning on doing a 7.5 fan on my oil cooler also. |

I have not - I am mostly just looking to see what some others have done with what results. Curious about going bigger fans, fan on my oil cooler, bigger oil pan, etc. I haven’t had my car on the track in 90 degree weather since I’ve been supercharged so it’s much different. The 170 thermostat is a good idea I didn’t realize I had another option over the mishi one. Thanks for that. If I rip it down I want to do everything at once.

Of time and money throwing bandaids at something that won’t work. I have a mini write on the track section, and couple videos of the car running in the track records section. Good luck on keeping the car cool, it was a major pain in the *** for me. |

I have no duct work done. I have not had any overheating troubles in the past until starting longer events. I am here asking questions before I go do it all which is why I made the post. My oil cooler sits way off in front of my driver side fender liner and looks like it’s common for people to toss a spal fan directly on it. Again, checking my options. I have seen nothing good on here about our radiator options all I see is stay stock. I am throwing a fast intentions tow bar on the front this next week to give me a little more room in front of my front mount.

Thanks a TON this is what I was looking for. I am running an 09 that I have had for 10 years and that’s why I was looking at new radiators before this. Since my coolant system isn’t pressurized the greddy breather is a great idea. The greddy oil pan was my other part I was looking at for an actual extra quart of oil to be added in with the aluminum pan. I was just curious on the fan upgrade since I’ll be ripping it down to this point it wouldn’t be difficult to do. To build a shroud similar to the old gtm wouldn’t be that difficult. Just getting all my ducks in a row to do this all at once. I have never ran anything like water wetter etc so I picked some up. My next event isn’t for 3 weeks..last year this event was in the low 40s….not upper 90s.

I have an 09 as well. I run a Ron Davis radiator and don’t see coolant temps above 207. My oil temps stay at 250 on the track. Ducting is key, Jonathan wheeler as runs a Sc on his time attack Z he runs anywhere between 500-700whp, he will also tell you how important ducting is to keeping it cool while turning laps.

I have been fortunate enough for Jonathan’s help in the past and actually messaged him the other night about this. Now that I’m getting used to the car sc’’d I’m pushing it much harder than the spring time..” new to this year” I had some fast cars I was tossed in with so I was pushing mine hard to hang with them. “Just a practice event open course 20 min runs “ I have never went into limp mode or anything but this setup is pretty new to me I did a lot of changes at once with forced induction. Now it’s onto the next but i need more than a minimal upgrade for this. Jonathan knows my issue I figured ducting is where our discussion will go. I’m grabbing a few things right away the certainly won’t hurt
