Default Mystery coolant explosion

Hey guys, hopefully this isn’t as much of a puzzle for you as it is for me. Stopped to check coolant levels after a day of normal driving and saw dried coolant everywhere, even on the bottom side of the hood. Car is tuned and has no cooling mods other than silicone hoses. Coolant levels appear to be fine (maybe a super slight leak) but the majority of the dried coolant is around the thermostat (which is what I think it is). Any thoughts before I replace the thermostat? Thanks!

Have you checked that aftermarket coolant cap for leaks?

I checked the rubber seals and they look fine, do you think it’s an overpressurizing issue?

If I were you, I'd check all the hoses and clamps to ensure they're connected properly and for any obvious leaks. Then put the OEM cap back on and clean up the mess. Turn the car on and let it idle for a few mins while observing the hoses and clamps. If you dont see anything obvious, take it for a test drive.

Just my $0.02

Get rid of that dog sh!t radiator cap and put the OEM one back on. Wash the engine bay and monitor for leaks after that or put a cooling system pressure tester on it and monitor for leaks that way.

Your T - stat bolts to the left hand side head on the front.

Don't forget to correct your coolant level.
