Default Manual Killswitch Install Advice

Hello all, with 3 Z's being stolen in my area in the last month, I'm concerned that I may be the next victim. The thieves seem to have a way to remotely unlock and start the car, then, drive it to the desired location and strip it of all valuable parts. With this being said, I'm looking to install a manual killswitch on the car and was wondering if anyone here has successfully done this and could provide some insight. (I.E, what wire to splice on the fuel pump/starter/start button. Start button splicing seems to be the easiest but I fear the thieves may have a way to remote start the car without using the button. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks,
Evan

If someone really wants your car, they will take it no matter how much security upgrades you add.

One of my buddies imported a real integra type r from japan and spent a pretty penny on legalizing it for street-use. Long story short, someone stole/towed it out from the garage he rented based on the cameras he installed on top of the "best" security systems available.

That being said, are you not able to park in the garage? You mentioned they stripped the car for parts so a killswitch seems it would only slow them down, if anything.

FWIW, a killswitch is possible, as with any vehicle.

The cars that have been stolen have not been specifically targeted or specifically wanted. It looks like they follow the victims and wait for them to park, and then, very quickly unlock and start the car and drive it away before anyone notices. A killswitch would certainly buy time if not completely stop the robbery.

Right, as I mentioned before, a killswitch would only slow them down and not likely to stop them. If they want it, they will take it someway and somehow. And from what you said, it seems like they are after the parts, so it's not some punks looking for a joyride, but rather somewhat sophisticated individuals look to make $$.

IMO, you're better off parking in a garage. If you don't have a garage, go rent a large garage at a local/close-by UHaul and ride a bike home, and vice versa.

Just curious, what part of Maryland is this happening in? I'm also in Maryland.

What about a fuel pump kill switch? No gas, no go. Just a thought.

My "burnout switch" acts as a killswitch if I forget to turn it off.
And I often utilize it when parking in public.
Especially since my tuner had to turn off my NATS.
AKA toggle on the brakelight to ecm wire.
Won't start if it thinks the brake isn't depressed
Clutch switch for you Manual guys.

It wouldn't be too difficult to install a toggle switch inline of the fuel pump harness behind the passenger seat

What you described sounds very much like the thieves are using a device to copy/clone the RFID signal from the key fob. They have to be very nearby for this technique for work, but basically once they get the signal, they have your "key." They press a button on their device and they can unlock the car just like the key fob. Once inside, the car will recognize the signal as if the key was in the car.

A (well) hidden toggle switch on the clutch pedal or brake pedal sensor wire will prevent the car from starting, but as others have pointed out, at this point they are already in the car so the killswitch will likely only slow them down.
