Higher PSI Oil Pressure Sensor for Oil Light
Supposedly the oil light doesn't come on until pressure drops to 5psi and the sensor circuit signals by grounding. Is there a direct replacement sensor with the same plug that would trigger in the 10-15 psi range?
I eventually plan to install a oil pressure gauge but until then... |

Honeywell has a line of simple pressure switches. I think they are all NPT, so youd need a NPT to BSPT adapter. Youll have to play around for a few minutes with a multimeter to determine if you need a N.O. or N.C. switch. The plug would need to be changed as well.

Good idea OP, I'd be in for a swap to a higher PSI warning sensor as well.
I wonder if Motorvate DIY has messed with it at all?

I would like to find a OE replacement from a different model that has the same BSPT thread & and maybe plug but higher trigger pressure. When I look up OE pressure sensors none of them give the switch pressure or even thread. Was looking for something simple and quick but if it will become a project then I'll just put a gauge in when I have time.

Not hard at all. There is a few threads on doing it.

Easy with an electronic sender that simply takes the place of the OE oil pressure switch which you shift to an empty port next door to retain.
A wire from the sender to gauge and power from gauge to add a circuit in drivers foot well fuse box and gauge ground wire to body ground.
