2023 Nissan Z external CSC retrofit on 370Z

I know that there are already a plethora of aftermarket options. But it would be interesting to see if it would be possible to retrofit the new Z external CSC

Default 2023 Nissan Z external CSC retrofit on 370Z

I know that there are already a plethora of aftermarket options. But it would be interesting to see if it would be possible to retrofit the new Z external CSC onto the 370Z.

Ofcourse the big question is would it just bolt on, but if it did, it would be an interesting way to go using OEM parts.

There are kits already available. Zspeed has one and ATS has one. We don't really talk about the one Z1 offers because of durability issues with the CSC itself. JarBlue didn't have much luck with his at all.

Plus Z1 kit requires periodic manual adjustments, which isn’t needed with the ZSpeed kit.

If Nissan couldn’t make a good internal csc for the 370z for so many years there is a good chance the new external design won’t be that much better. I wouldn’t bother to find out even if it’s possible especially there’s a quality aftermarket option.

Just to be clear, I am talking about the yet unreleased OEM parts for the external CSC from the new 2023 Z, not the CSC from Z1 Motorsports.

So, two very good options listed above.

hopefully the new Z's external CSC is much easier to replace.

If it's external I'd bet it's a lot less work than having to drop the transmission to do the internal style.

How can it be an EXTERNAL CONCENTRIC cylinder? Help me picture that.

adjective: concentric
of or denoting circles, arcs, or other shapes which share the same center, the larger often completely surrounding the smaller.

I think you mean a traditional Linear Slave cylinder.

Here is the best info I found on it. As quoted by Z1:

"Although it isn't visible here we now know that the clutch hydraulics have been redesigned, moving the clutch slave cylinder back outside the transmission and solving the dreaded CSC problem that plagued the last generation Z."

Looking at the external view of the engine I can't seem to find any inlet/outlet into the transmission for a pressure plate release mechanism

This being shown it looks like another variance of the CD/JK transmission
another loss in my opinion

^^OK, so it's linear, not an EXTERNAL CSC as OP stated.

Location of the hole for the hose has also changed as well.
